My Fellow Legionnaires of Post #467,

For a long time, there has not been an active American Legion Post in the Arlington area.  This has been a grave injustice for the 12^th District, Department of Texas and most importantly you. Not to mention a lot of our members transferred to the 5^th District.  For this, I would like to apologize. 

To rectify this, we have reached an accord with our sister organization, VFW Post #8561 to allow Post #467 to use their facilities.  Post #8561 is at 3221 Howell St, Arlington, Texas 76010.  The telephone number is (817) 633-8332.  The post is east of the intersection of Hwy #360 and Abrams, south on Peewee and east on Shelton.  In meetings with Commander Dennis Swindle, they are excited that the American Legion will be using their post.

Because of the above, I have scheduled a meeting at Post #8561 on Saturday, June 17 at 1:00 p.m.   This meeting will be for the purpose of reorganizing Post #467 into an “active” American Legion post.  We will be electing temporary officers and reviewing policies and procedures in order for the post to be in compliance with the Department of Texas.  Also, Anne Harrington, 12^th District Auxiliary and Larry Bohanon, 12^th District SAL, will be on hand to assist in establishing these organizations.

For your part, I am asking that you mark your calendar for the above date and make plans to attend.   With your assistance, we can revive Post #467 into a Post the city of Arlington and 12^th District and you could be proud of.
